EDA Short Immersive at a Glance


Unit 1

Exploratory Data Analysis Basics

We’ll start with the basics. Unit one is about getting acquainted with exploratory data analysis and the tools used to extract meaningful insights, namely: SQL and Python libraries.

Unit 2

Exploratory Data Analysis Advanced and Project Management

In unit two, we’ll dive deeper into Python and SQL. At the end of the course, you’ll complete a final project.


For your project, you will extract information and insights from a messy dataset, write code in Jupyter notebooks, perform EDA using Python, and visualize results. You will also pull and clean data using a relational database.

What's Covered

  • Exploring, manipulating, and describing tabular datasets using Pandas and Numpy
  • Using Matplotlib and Seaborn to visualize variables and the relationships between them
  • Working with database tools to connect to and query from relational databases


We recommend that students have a basic understanding of the following:

  • General Python programming concepts, such as data types, conditional statements, loops, and functions
  • Machine learning math fundamentals like calculus, probability, linear algebra, and statistics

  • What are the prerequisites for the Exploratory Data Analysis short immersive course?

    Students should be proficient in general Python programming concepts, such as data types, conditional statements, loops, and functions. Students should also be comfortable with the mathematical fundamentals of machine learning including calculus, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.

    Students will also need to have a Github account. Github is a web-based hosting service for version control using Git. Sign-up for an account on their site is free, fast and easy.

  • How can I enroll in this course?

    To enroll in the Exploratory Data Analysis course, click here. Enrollment for the course will close on the Friday before the class start date by 8 pm ET. This will help ensure you receive any information required to join the class successfully on day 1.

  • What are the payment options for the course?

    Tuition for the Exploratory Data Analysis course is $3,500 for the Live Online format and $2,500 for the Online Flex format. Students can pay for the course in full or consider one of our financing options. We partner with Ascent to offer monthly repayment options for our students. Learn more by visiting Ascent.

  • What is the time commitment for this course?

    The Live Online Exploratory Data Analysis course format requires a full-time commitment Monday through Friday for two weeks.The short immersive course runs from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm ET / 10:00 am - 5:00 pm CT / 8:00 am - 3:00 pm PT. The daily schedule includes pair programming, lectures, one hour lunch, and independent project work. 

    Students can expect to spend additional time each night outside of class hours reviewing lectures, completing assignments, and working on their project. Students must maintain attendance and achieve passing scores on both the project and assessments to receive a certificate of completion.

    For the Online Flex short immersive course format, students commit to 15-to-20 hours a week for four weeks. Students will watch on-demand lectures and engage with instructors and teaching assistants live online during 1:1 sessions as necessary. Students must complete assigned activities to receive a certificate of completion.

  • Do I get career support if I take this course?

    We do not offer career support for avocational, short immersive course students like we do for our bootcamp students, but you will gain access to our impressive, consistently-expanding network of data professionals.  Networking events and job opportunities are posted on a regular basis in Slack.
